When the LGB (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual) movement brought transgenderism into the sexual revolution, the revolution itself became solely about transgenderism. It has come not only to dominate the sexual revolution, but is itself, THE revolution now.
While friendly interaction between the LGB and the T marked the early years, the inclusion of transgenderism has caused the categories of gay, lesbian, and bisexual to fade into yesteryear —vestiges of a backwards history. Those old designations now simply fall under the larger category of gender identity.
The popular website, Trans Equality, defines Transgenderism saying,
“Transgender people are people whose gender identity is different from the gender they were thought to be at birth. “Trans” is often used as shorthand for transgender.
When we're born, a doctor usually says that we're male or female based on what our bodies look like. Most people who were labeled male at birth turn out to actually identify as men, and most people who were labeled female at birth grow up to be women. But some people's gender identity – their innate knowledge of who they are – is different from what was initially expected when they were born. Most of these people describe themselves as transgender.”
-It’s important to point out just how subjective and self-centered this revolution really is. Rather than citing medical facts and statistics (which are non-existent), the definition and explanation of transgenderism is built on personal feeling and emotion:
“When we’re born…”
“...their innate knowledge of who they are…”
“Most of these people describe themselves…”
-Because the ideology of transgenderism lacks any basis in objective reality, it has to settle for the subjective and ever-shifting foundation of personal feeling.
It's always crumbling. It's always being rebuilt.
In the News.
Two stories in the news this week highlight the inevitable and evil ends of the transgender revolution…
The first focuses on a college-aged man who identifies as a woman, and who goes by the name Lia Thomas (formerly, Will Thomas). He attends Penn State University and swims on the girls swim team. This week, one of the female swimmers spoke out against Thomas after he won the 100m and 200m events at an NCAA female event held at Harvard University.
The article, which ran in the Washington Examiner, states, “Thomas was born male and is competing among biological females. The swimmer's place on the women’s team has caused a lot of anger and frustration among the other swimmers. They were promised fair competition among females before accepting admission to the Ivy League school, but that turned out not to be true. After swimming for three years on the men's team, Thomas's involvement with the women's team has left a feeling that the school employed a bait-and-switch tactic on the students.”
-Shortly after the Examiner’s article broke, the father of another swimmer on the team spoke out saying, “...his daughter and her teammates are coming to the realization that they won't be able to beat her.”
The reality is, this father and his daughter know and recognize they are competing against a man who is lying.
In the article, this father, who states he has a medical background, and desires to remain anonymous for fear of physical harm, says, “...he believes there is no stopping Thomas from reaching the highest level. She is most likely going to be representing you and I and all other Americans at the Olympics,' he said.”
-This week, on The Briefing, Al Mohler discussed this story saying, “There is a collision, not only between feminism and the transgender agenda and movement. There is also a direct collision coming between the interest of women and girls on the one hand, when it comes to sport, and the ideologues and revolutionaries pressing transgender agendas.”
His point was this: With the blitzkrieg of the transgender revolution, actual female sporting achievements and records, from the high school level all the way to the Olympics, will soon fade away as more and more men, claiming to be women, set “new” records.
We ought to wonder how long will Jenny Thompson and Katie Ledecky remain as the top female olympic swimmers of all time?
-As Mohler notes, “...when you're talking about the transgender revolution, if there are athletes who really are women, but they are presenting as men and claiming to be men, and if they get on men's teams, they generally don't win. They're not a threat to the male athletes. But the moment you have a so-called transgender female, which means a male in physiology, and as Christians understand, in truth, then you really have a male on a female team. And that means coming with all the male advantages.”
More Concerning…
-But a second story broke this week; a story far more immediately concerning than the first. The headline reads:
“California trans child molester, 26, gets 2 years in juvenile facility thanks to progressive DA Gascon.”
-The story reports that a young man, named James Tubbs, has been arrested for a number of violent crimes, but among the charges was the molestation of a young girl in 2014 when Tubbs was 17.
Tubbs pleaded guilty to the crimes. But the Los Angeles District Attorney, George Gascon—who is known for his far left progressivism—refused to try Tubbs as an adult. Because Tubbs was a minor when he committed the crimes (2 weeks shy of his 18th birthday), Gascon tried him in a juvenile court as a female minor.
To complicate matters, the article reports, “At the time of the crime, she [Tubbs] identified as male and went by James Tubbs. She did not identify as female until after she was taken into custody, according to prosecutors.”
James Tubbs is now referred to as Hannah Tubbs.
-The article goes on to report that Tubbs has other outstanding violent charges against him as an adult, but with his claim of transgenderism [post-arrest], and the insane progressivism of D.A. Gascon, he is being treated as a female minor.
Here is, perhaps, the most concerning aspect of the whole story, “Because Tubbs began identifying as female after she was taken into custody, and Gascon refused to try her as an adult, Tubbs was sentenced to two years in a juvenile facility. In L.A. County, juvenile facilities can house both females and males, but in separate areas. Tubbs will be housed with the females.”
Make sure to catch the logic: This grown man, who is guilty of molesting a young girl and of other violent crimes, is going to be housed in a juvenile correctional facility with…young women. He is being placed with the very population to which he is the greatest danger.
Additionally, because of how Gascon is trying him, Tubbs will not be required to register as a sex-offender.
-We might be tempted to ask, “Where are the feminists?!” Why aren’t they standing up against this insanity and fighting even harder for women’s rights?
Some are, and they are being eaten by the revolution.
Most are just getting in line with the revolution.
The transgender revolution is utterly destroying not only women’s rights, but the very definition of what it means to be female.
In a recent episode of the Dr. Phil show, a transgendered woman (which means, a biological man) was asked, point blank, “what does it mean to be a woman?”
The transgendered woman [man] responds, “I can’t define womanhood, because it’s not for me to say. Womanhood looks different for everybody.”
It is of no small note that the man claiming to be a woman was dressed in female blouse, had a very feminine hairdo, and sported a thick beard and masculine voice.
Biblical Sight and Sanity.
Thankfully, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle Paul prepared us for this. In Romans 1:18-25 we read,
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
-Here are some things to note from what the Apostle says,
It is plain in the world that God exists. He doesn’t reveal everything about Himself in nature, but we can discern that He is there, and that His moral law is there.
It is also clear that man, through his sin, rejects God and attempts to suppress God’s truth through his own sin.
And when man attempts to suppress the Truth, he not only becomes a fool, but his heart grows dark; he begins giving himself up to impurity and he dishonors the body.
A man calling himself a woman is entirely dishonoring to his own body, to the bodies of women, and to reality.
-The Apostle goes on to say in v. 28-32,
And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
-One of the ways God presently punishes wickedness in the world is by letting wickedness have its own desires for a time.
What does transgenderism seek? It seeks destruction. And, for a time, it will succeed in destroying reality. But, as is already happening, it will also destroy itself. It is a candle burning at both ends; a wild animal eating its own leg.
So, Christian, we ought not be surprised by the depths of wickedness of which mankind is capable. The Bible does not outline every specific sin that man will commit, but God does give us categories of Truth that help us to see and process these vile things.
Christians must never affirm the sinful delusions of the world. We must stand against such wicked perversion on the foundation of God’s Truth. We must name things for what they are while calling sinners to repent and come to Jesus.
The Reality.
-Will Thomas is a man pretending to be a girl. He is being cheered on by the culture as a champion, when, in reality, he is doing nothing more than taking advantage of women. His actions are shameful and pathetic.
-James Tubbs is a violent sex-offender who, capitalizing on a cultural revolution, has landed himself among the very people he’s guilty of abusing. His sinfulness demands that justice be served and he be locked away as a sex-offender among adult men.
-These men need the gospel of Jesus Christ. They need the Lord Jesus to open their eyes to their sin and save their souls. We ought to be praying they find Him.
We ought to pray that the Lord Jesus would shed the light of Truth on our culture.
And while we pray, we must stand firm on the foundation of biblical Truth and against the insanity of the Transgender revolution.
